To mark the first International Day of Dialogue among Civilizations, the National Museum of Art and the Chinese Embassy in Romania will co-host a special cultural event entitled „Conversation and Connection – Music Connects the World”.
The event will take place on Wednesday, 26th of June 2025, starting 15:00, at the headquarter of the National Museum of Art in Romania and will feature a guided tour in the Gallery of Oriental Art, China Exhibition Hall, followed by a lecture and a live performance of traditional Chinese Guqin.
Recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, Guqin is a seven-stringed zither with a history of over 3000 years. Once known as a refined pursuit of Chinese scholars in ancient China, along with calligraphy, painting and the game of Go, Guqin remains a powerful symbol of Chinese philosophy and aesthetics.
