Exceptional debut for young Romanian guitarist Gabriel Popescu at Bucharest National Theatre

On Christmas Day, in the heart of Romania’s capital, a remarkable musical event unfolded at the National Theatre “I.L. Caragiale”, the Regal Vienez Christmas Concert. Among renowned orchestras and international opera voices, a bright new talent emerged, Gabriel Popescu, a 12-year-old classical guitarist who delivered a captivating performance alongside his mentor, guitarist and professor Mădălin Antonesei.

Together, the two artists performed a transcription for two guitars of the expressive Tango to Evora and Chitarra romana. The moment was met with profound silence, followed by extended applause from an audience of over 2,000 spectators.
