The Government of Romania is taking urgent action to address the severe effects of flooding that has impacted Neamț and Suceava counties.

In Neamț County, efforts are focused on cleaning Lake Izvorul Muntelui (also known as Lake Bicaz), where massive quantities of sediment, waste, and logs carried by floodwaters have accumulated. So far, approximately 100 cubic meters of timber have been extracted. Intervention activities are being carried out on three work fronts, and today a long-arm excavator will be deployed to accelerate the process.

This morning, a cooperation protocol was signed between Hidroelectrica, the National Administration “Romanian Waters”, the Forestry Guard, the Forest Directorate, and the Sanitary-Veterinary Directorate, clearly outlining the responsibilities of each institution involved in this coordinated action.
