The Mărțișor Tradition Promoted Abroad by the Institutul Cultural Român
The Romanian Cultural Institute marks the beginning of spring through a series of events dedicated to Mărțișor, organized in collaboration with diplomatic missions, cultural institutions, and local partners around the world. Creative workshops, exhibitions, screenings, conferences, and artistic moments will highlight the symbolic value and cultural heritage of Mărțișor, promoting intercultural dialogue and the transmission of Romanian traditions.
Mărțișor was inscribed in 2017 on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity – UNESCO – following a joint nomination by Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, and the Republic of Moldova.
