On 11 February 2026, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Oana Țoiu, received the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Colombia, Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio Mapy—the first bilateral visit at the foreign minister level since 1994.

The agenda included political consultations, the official inauguration of the reopening of Colombia’s embassy in Bucharest, and the joint signing of a Letter of Intent to cooperate in the fields of sports and cultural diplomacy.
